May I come to walk the grounds?

   Linwood is the private residence of the Sisters of St. Ursula and not open to the public without approval through the main office. Simply contact us or stop in. Pets (while we love them), are not allowed on the property - for the protection of our wildlife , guests, and residents.

Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?
    We always have a fresh salad bar, often straight from our garden in season! We offer vegetarian options on our hot buffet. We may be able to emphasize more vegetarian options if requested for an entire group. Our kitchen is NOT kosher or vegan, and NOT nut, dairy, or gluten-free. A guest refrigerator is available if you have foods to bring that will make your stay more comfortable.

Are there walking trails?

    Yes, a trail leads from the entrance of the property along a stream toward the river and back. It is not particularly long or difficult, but is natural and its condition depends on recent weather. There are various paths on the property with meditation benches we call “Sacred Circles”.  Can I make a private retreat just for myself, reserving a couple days?

      Yes, we encourage private retreats, but cannot guarantee availability. Call our registrar as soon as you are able. 

 How can I request spiritual direction from a lay or religious spiritual director?

      Email or call and we will assist you in finding a spiritual director.

 

How far in advance should I book a group retreat?

      It is best to book your retreat with us a year in advance with a contract and deposit. On occasion there are cancellations, so contact the registrar.

​Can I plan a one-day group workshop/meeting at Linwood?

      Yes, we encourage civic and religious organizations to do so, especially during the week and in winter (again, depending on availability of the space). 

What are the room rates and deposit for a private retreat? 
    Room rate: Mon.-Thurs. is $110.   Fri., Sat., Sun. cost is $130. per night.

    Deposits , Non-Refundable, non-transferable:

    One-night private retreat deposit is $55.   Two or more nights deposit is $110. 

 Can I rent the outdoor areas for an event, such as a wedding or other party?
    The pavilion is the only space that is possible, but we are not set up for large events and the pavilion is usually used for retreats. Please call the main office to inquire. 

Is Linwood Catholic? It is inclusive?

    Yes, Linwood Spiritual Center is the private property and a ministry of the Society of St. Ursula, an order of Roman Catholic women religious. See our Society of St Ursula page.

​Can I get to Linwood by public transportation?

    Yes, see our Directions and or Bus, Train, Taxi page.

Is Linwood open all year around?

   Yes, our gates are open 12 months a year! Check our weather page to come prepared!

Is there WIFI or TVs?

   Yes, there is WIFI throughout the property. We discourage the use of cell phones.  We do not have televisions in guest rooms.
