PRESENTERS & SPIRITUAL DIRECTORS
DON BISSON, FMS is an experienced spiritual director, formator, and supervisor who has worked with dreams and spirituality for over 30 years. He has a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Pacific School of Religion in the area of Jung and Spiritual Direction and a Masters of Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology with his masters project being “Dreams and Discernment”.
JANE CLAFFY, MSN has been a nursing educator for many years. Her focus has been basic nursing education and gerontological nursing. Jane has been a hospice nurse and volunteer. She has ministered to families and friends in their grieving.
ELIZABETH ANNE DIPIPPO, SU is an adjunct member of the Linwood Retreat Team Ministry. After teaching for many years and serving in community administration, she received certificates in Spiritual Direction from the Archdiocesan Program as well as Mariandale/Linwood Program for Spiritual Direction in a retreat context. Elizabeth Anne has studied Ignatian Spirituality in Rome and at the Jesuit Center in Wernersville, PA. She has a Spiritual Direction practice in New Paltz, NY and at Linwood, as well as presenting spiritual programs in her parish, at Linwood and at The Redemptorist Renewal Center in Tucson, AR. Her main interest is women’s spirituality.
KATHLEEN A. DONNELLY, SU is a member of the Linwood Retreat Team Ministry. She has studied the Spiritual Exercises at the Jesuit Center in Wernersville, PA and Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario. Bio-Spiritual Focusing is one of her major areas of interest, connecting the wisdom of the body with the wisdom of the spirit. Kathleen also teaches spiritual direction and offers supervision for spiritual directors. She is interested in issues related to the environment, especially the Hudson River Bioregion.
KENNETH J. GAVIN, SJ has just completed seven years as Assistant International Director of Jesuit Relief Services in Rome. He has had extensive international experience with Jesuit ministries and with the refugee work of JRS throughout the world. Ken has served as Provincial of the NY Province of Jesuits and has ministered as well at Regis HS in NYC and Marquette University. Ken has been a long-time friend of Linwood and the Sisters of St. Ursula and since his recent return to ministry in Brooklyn, has joined once again in retreat ministry at Linwood.
MARY ISAAC KOENIG, SU has been a Sister of St. Ursula for 58 years. She learned the art of hand-quilting while on mission in Wilmington, N.C. Isaac continues her ministry to the poor and homeless at St. Mary Parish in Wilmington, working with over 200 volunteers to help piece together lives that have been torn apart. She is also an avid gardener and each year comes to Linwood in the spring, along with friends, to work in our grounds, planting seeds and flowers that nourish our spirits and our bodies during the year.
TERENCE MCCORRY, M.S, brings 27 years of ministry and teaching experience to the position of Director of Linwood Spiritual Center. After working in the film industry, Terence studied theology at Union Theological Seminary in NYC and was trained in Spiritual Direction at the Center for Spirituality and Justice. He served as Director of Campus and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Palm Beach Florida as well as being the regional representative for Catholic Relief Services. Locally, Terence was interim Director of Pax Christi NY, Director of Campus Ministry at multiple universities in the Archdiocese as well as Assistant Professor of Religious Studies. Locally he was the Director of People and Culture (Human Resources and staff development) at the Omega Institute here in Rhinebeck and Campus Minister for La Salle Academy in Manhattan.
MICHAEL O’NEILL MCGRATH, a brother of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, is the author and illustrator of the Catholic Press Association award-winning book Blessed Art Thou: Mother, Lady, Mystic, Queen. His work appears regularly in the publications of today’s leading Catholic and Christian publishers. Mickey is also a highly respected speaker and retreat director at parishes and retreat centers throughout the United States.
CAROL PERRY, SU, has completed 37 years as Resident Bible Scholar at Marble Collegiate Church in NYC. She is a graduate of Fordham University, Regina Mundi in Rome and St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame. She has given retreats and lectures across the country and is the author of two books, “Waiting for Our Souls to Catch Up” and “Among Women”. Her chief interest is making the people of the Bible come alive for us today so that their message is relevant to our lives.
NANCY PLUMER, M.S., is an intuitive energy healer who has been studying holistic healing and health for 30 years. She is a certified One Light Healing Touch Practitioner/Instructor and a long time Kripalu yoga teacher. She is the co-founder of Women with Wisdom and has a private healing practice in Stone Ridge, NY.
JOHN REPLOGLE, SJ has been an educator for many years. He also has extensive experience in campus and retreat ministry, as well as the ministry of spiritual direction. Jack currently resides in the Jesuit community at Xavier High School in NYC and serves as assistant to the president.
JOY SCARANO has been a Massage Therapist in Florida and New York since 1990. Her training spans from Pre-Natal to Geriatric Massage. She has instructed classes in massage and self-help techniques at local colleges in the Hudson Valley, where she has lived since 1975, as well as at an alternative health center where she acted as co-director. Joy has been an educator for the past 35 years, with a B.A. in education. Her aim is to educate each person about the connection between mind, body and spirit.
MAUREEN STEELEY, SU has studied Ignatian Spirituality in Rome, at St. Beuno’s in N. Wales and at Loyola House in Guelph. Her passion and joy is in sharing the stories and the conversation about God in our everyday lives.
